Usually when we part ways by saying ‘be safe’, we mean it rhetorically. However, in these past few days, these words ring true when we see that road bullies and idiots seem to have overtaken Malaysian highways.
Amongst them, an Alphard owner driving recklessly, provoking road users, using the emergency lane and unnecessarily depressing the brakes, causing others to slam on their brakes. And get this, he has 56 outstanding traffic summonses!
Also caught on camera were Audi A4 and Toyota Wish owners jostling in and out of traffic. It is said that the Audi A4 driver was a repossessor trying to stop the Wish owner. But their callous driving could have caused a serious accident and taken innocent lives.

As of writing, police have remanded them and they will definitely face the maximum punishment. Thank goodness other road users had dashcams fitted onto their vehicles and given the authorities the evidence they needed. And, of course, the public gets to see how these idiots behave and hopefully encourage safer driving.
So, please be aware of your surroundings if you have yet to journey back during this “Hari Raya” holiday. There are more than the usual maniacs on the road these few days.
